Antoinette Isama is a dynamic culture journalist, editor, copywriter, and producer documenting the global impact of creativity from Africa and its diaspora.

A first-generation Nigerian hailing from Silver Spring, MD, Antoinette holds a master’s degree specializing in interactive journalism and magazine writing from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.

Her freelance writing includes bylines from ESSENCE, Teen Vogue, Al-Jazeera English, EBONY, Audiomack, The FADER, ZORA Mag, VIBE, BET, and Bandcamp. She’s provided on-air cultural commentary on WNYC and CGTN America, and has spoken at the SAID Institute, Yale University, University of Georgia, and Georgia Tech.

Currently, Antoinette is the co-founder of FourTwo Creative—an African women-led creative agency building culturally-relevant brands that tell Black stories with intention, a freelance copywriter for Spherical, and a consultant for the American Press Institute. Previously, she was a content editor at AMAKA Studio, the arts and culture editor at OkayAfrica, as well as a visiting reporter at the Weekend Argus newspaper in Cape Town, South Africa.

When she’s not working, Antoinette spends time exploring good eats (she’s a food critic in her head), hosting ‘toast’ on Half Moon Radio, and hitting up a good party in New York City and around the world.
